Join NEAVS In Celebrating World Animal Day 2015

World Animal Day, held annually on October 4th, is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare. This day is an opportunity to consider our relationship with the rest of the animals we share the earth with.

The plight of animals used in cosmetics testing is often overlooked, as they are hidden from public view. Help NEAVS ensure we recognize all of the millions of invisible animals used in cosmetics testing on this special day!

In a 2011 ORC International survey of U.S. adults:

  • 72% agreed testing cosmetics on animals is unethical
  • 61% believed companies should not be allowed to test on animals
  • 78% agreed development of alternatives for cosmetics is important

As a founding member of the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC), and its Leaping Bunny logo program, NEAVS is committed to ending the needless suffering and death of millions of rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and other animals in product testing.

A highlight of NEAVS' ongoing outreach is promoting 'Cruelty-Free Beauty Days' at numerous community events. NEAVS' goal is to build awareness about the unnecessary use of animals in cosmetics testing and research and increase public support for quick passage of the Humane Cosmetics Act (H.R. 2858) into U.S. law.

PLEASE help us pass the HCA by contacting your U.S. Representative today and asking them to support the bill! Once passed, the HCA will end the use of animals in cosmetics testing within one year and the sale of animal-tested cosmetics in the U.S. within three.

Please share your awareness of the continued use of animals in cosmetics testing on social media using the tag #WorldAnimalDay -- ask your friends and family to reach out to their representative so we can end this unnecessary and inhumane testing.

Animals who continue to suffer in labs are counting on all of us! Thank you.

Visit us at neavs.org and 'Like Us' on Facebook to find out more ways you can support NEAVS and help us to get ALL animals out of ALL labs.
